Lowride 12 h Challenge ajettiin ensimmäisen kerran 6.- 7.8. Nokialla.
Kilpailijat ajoivat kelloa ja itseään vastaan 200 metrin, 1 tunnin ja 12 tunnin koitoksissa. Sää oli pääasiassa hyvä, vaikka jäähdyttäviä kuurojakin saatiin aina välillä. Yleisöä oli paikalla kiitettävästi ja aika kului sekä radalla että katsomossa rattoisasti. Ensi vuonna tapahtumaa on tarkoitus kasvattaa ja tehdä tilaisuudesta vuosittainen mahdollisuus pyöräilijöille haastaa itseään.

Mäntyharjun helteet hyväilivät pyöräilijöitä viime viikonloppuna. Mukana oli taas uusia osaanottajia ja uusia pyöriä, joka todistaa että nojapyöräily ei ole kuolemassa sukupuuttoon. Tämän kenties Suomen historian komeimman velomobiilisuoran pystyi bongaamaan lauantai iltana paikallisen järven rannassa:
Viikonlopun kohokohdat olivat suurinpiirtein seuraavat:
Perjantai
- Hirvensalmen Tervaleppä -juhla
- Tutustuminen Kissakosken historialliseen tehdasmiljööseen.
- Lowride Frisbeegolfin Suomen mestaruuskilpailut
- Gimmick lasten kolmipyörällä saavutettu Suomen nopeusennätys n. 17 km/h
Lauantai
- Tour De Mäntyharju pyöräilytapahtuma 160 km
- Pertunpäivät -kyläjuhla Pertunmaalla
- Suomen komein velomobiilisuora
- illanvietto saunomisen ja syömisen merkeissä
- Lowride ritsalla ampumisen Suomen mestaruuskilpailu (selvitys osaanottajan vilpillisestä toiminnasta käynnissä)
Sunnuntai
- Loma-asunto messut
- Taidekeskus Salmela
Ensi vuoden tapahtuman ajankohta ja paikka jäi kerrankin päättämättä, joten nyt on mahdollisuus jokaisella vaikuttaa. Foorumi tarjoaa mahdollisuuden ottaa osaa keskusteluun.
Elokuussa kokoonnutaan Nokialla vähintään yhtä vauhdikkaissa merkeissä kun Lowride 12-h Challenge kokoaa ennätysten ja omien rajojensa tavoittelijat samaan paikkaan. Luvassa on rentoa meininkiä ja suuria nopeuksia. Tapahtuman viralliselta sivulta löydät kaiken tarvittavan tiedon koskien tapahtumaa. Ilmoittaudu mukaan tai tule paikalle katsojaksi!

Lowride 2011 will be held 1.7.-2.7. in Finland in the town of Mäntyharju. Once again the event will gather recumbent ethusiasts together to celebrate recumbent cycling. The program will be diverse with a change to visit cultural sites, an
eco-friendly holiday housing fair and the famous
Tour de Mäntyharju – traditional cycling race of 160 km around the area.

Tapahtuma tarjoaa mahdollisuuden haasta itsensä kelloa vastaan lentävän 200 metrin, 1 tunnin ja 12 tunnin ajossa. Tuloksia voi lähteä yrittämään niin hampaat irvessä kuin leppoisin mielin. Paikalle saa tulla myös katsomaan, kannustamaan ja kohottamaan omaa nojailumotivaatiota ja mielenkiintoisia pyöriä on varmasti paikanpäällä paljon.

The Event offers participants a change to challenge themselves and the clock in flying 200 m, 1 hour and 12 hour races. Your welcome to try the new world record or just challenge yourself at your own speed. The event is kept rather small this first year but the aim is to challenge people outside the Finland to take part also.

Highracers have taken their place on the Finnish recumbent scene. Take a look at these beauties:
Challenge Seiran SL and Slyway Team highracers were seen in the small town of Kälviä where they participated in the 24 hours long team event. No doubt these fast and expensive bikes where the highlight of the event.

…could have been written by a frenchman Charles Mochet in the 30s. This theory originally written by famous scientist in 1859 could have easily been a way for bicycle development if there had not been a “conspiracy” ruling the game.
