Lowride 2010: bikes and trikes

Friday, July 30, 2010 10:38

Lowride 2010 had more exotic bikes at the event than ever before. There was nice stock bikes and curious homebuilds. Here´s some of the highlights.

Let´s start with this beautiful elderly. English made Rapide was presented by Jyväskylä´s first ´bent rider. The bike dates back to somewhere in mid 90´s.

Engineer Montonen is famous for his bike made out of exhaust pipe that stays in one piece with rope. It´s amazing how this bike had not failed in 4 years until it slowly collapsed in Thursday. With just a new rope and it was back in business.

Trikes were test driven a lot and everybody seemed to have their own favourite. Someone liked the Greenspeed when the other preferred the Trice.

Sakari Holma brought all together 3 of his homebuilds. Sakari also held a presentation about his bikes and design on Saturday.

Lowracers were strongly present as always but increasing number of highracers was clearly to been seen.

When talking about velomobiles there´s always these 3 that show up each year. The classic Leitra…

The always so cool Mango…

And the “Ferrari” of velomobiles – the WAW…

There was also something for more exotic taste:

Hase Pino Tandem.

Homebuild chopper trike.

Interesting rowing bike. Not is it only fun to ride it´s a good workout at the same time.

Look for more bikes on the gallery.

What will we see in next year?
